Another server upgrade! :)

by Lee, Thursday, 04 June 2009 13:48 Comments(0), Read all

what a difference a day makes! Having only upgraded our server a few months ago, the site has continued its expansion & I could see this new server fast becoming unsuitable for us, so this time round I have upgraded the server in good time!

the new server gives us much more storage room & better cpu allowances which may help navigation speeds from time to time.

I am hoping to announce a new sponsor in the near future which will help cover the costs of our continued growth.

Sorry for any inconvenience lost posts or lost members over lunch time!

Standard Aim For Podium Finish!

by Lee, Friday, 03 April 2009 12:19 Comments(0), Read all

Standard Engineering are pleased to announce their latest sponsorship deal following on from our first foray into racing last year with International Road Racer, James McBride. With effect from April 2009, ‘Linxcel-Seton Tuning’ will be competing in the British Supersport Championship. This is one of the most competitive Championships in the world and features some of the worlds best known short circuit riders. In the past, this Championship has produced quality riders such as, Craig Jones, Tommy Hill, Andrew Pitt and Glen Richards, who won the Championship last year, who have progressed into Superbike racing.

The rider who finished second last year was Hudson Kennaugh, a tough, fast, South African rider who has proven ability on the track, with a range of development skills to assist any team he rides for. Hudson, will this year be riding for ‘Linxcel - Seton Tuning’ and this is the team that Standard Engineering will be sponsoring.

‘Linxcel-Seton Tuning’, is owned and managed by ex racer, Phil Seton and a select number of technicians who help run the team. Phil operates a motorcycle tuning business, based in Colchester that assists club and professional racers alike, with racing suspension set up and engine tuning his speciality. Phil is building an enviable reputation as a quality tuner and has ambitions beyond the British Championship. You can take a look at the teams website here:

www.linxcel-seton.com

Phil commented, “The whole ‘Linxcel-Seton Tuning’ team are delighted to be involved with Standard Engineering for the 2009 season. In these difficult financial times it is great to be attracting new sponsors into our motorcycle racing team. We are confident our team and Hudson are capable of being at the forefront of the British Supersport Championship. Standard Engineering’s support this season is a vital part of the package that allows our team to run and for their support we are very grateful.

With the first race on Easter Monday, we at Standard are very much looking forward to helping Phil realise his ambition and compete at the very highest level in the British Championship. We wish Phil, Hudson and all the team the very best for the coming season and look forward to enjoying some of their successes along the way. If you wish to follow their progress, which will be televised, alongside the package for the BSB Championship, please do so through the Seton website above or via the motorcycling publication, MCN.

by Lee, Wednesday, 25 March 2009 11:58 Comments(0), Read all

I have been doing a bit of work on the chat room over the last few days & we now have a "who's in chat" block which includes the room & member names.

there is now a direct link to the chat room on the navigation bar. Also the chat room sits within the site as a frame, which is more in keeping with the layout of the rest of the site.

I have introduced a new set of smilies which includes the English, Scottish, Irish & Welsh flags

the "stanley Marsh" Trophy/Award

As part of a coincidental Email exchange I have had today, this paragraph was included in one fo the emails

Just as a matter of interest my late uncle, Stanley Marsh was the President of the Society of Master Shoe Repairers and there is still a cup awarded every year which has his name on it. He owned a dozen shops. So you can see I have been associated with shoe repairers all my life.
